October 2, 2017 – Raleigh, NC – After a sucessful fourth year of the Sir Walter Miler, and a third year of the popular Pop Up Miles series, Sir Walter Running has partnered with the City of Raleigh and Dorothea Dix Park to present “Pop Up Cross Country at Dix Park” on Tuesday nights in October.

The weekly series will feature two races each Tuesday: a 5k race at 6pm, and a 1k fun run for Kids at 6:30pm. Both will take place on the grass at the Big Field at Dorothea Dix Park, and will follow different courses each week. The third week will add a relay option, and the fourth and final week will be the Raleigh City Championship, and will offer a team component. Details on both events are forthcoming.

Those interested in attending can RSVP on Facebook. All races, aside from the championship, will be free of charge. Volunteers are needed. There is also an Amazon Wish List to help purchase items needed to help produce the weekly event. The official hashtag will be #PopUpXC

Pop Up Cross Country is directed and promoted by Sir Walter Running, a Raleigh-based USATF club. Week 2: Tuesday, October 10 – 6pm 5k, 6:30pm Kids 1k (5k Course Map / Results)

Week 3: Tuesday, October 17 – 6pm 3 Mile (individual) / 3xMile Relay / Kids 1 Mile within race (1 Mile Loop Course Map / Results)
