2026 Tour de Walter – Week 4 – Farms of Dover Mile

So you like Strava Challenges? We have another for you! If you haven’t already, join the Sir Walter Running Strava club!

The 2026 Tour de Walter is coming to an end. New challenges have run every Monday (or maybe Sunday night). All of these are in celebration of the 2026 Sir Walter Miler, which will be held Friday, August 7th at Meredith College. We’ll talk about these Strava Challenges of upcoming episodes of the Summer of Miles podcast, so make sure and subscribe!

What exactly is the Tour de Walter? This is the 4th and final segment of the 2026 Tour de Walter, in honor of the Tour de France. Everyone that competes all 4 segments will get a Tour de Walter shirt , and the Male and Female with the lowest overall time will get VIP seating at the 2026 Sir Walter Miler. We’ll also do a random drawing every week for free race entries, Sir Walter swag, and more!

NOTE: These runs are unsupervised, so please run at your own risk (and be careful). We recommend the buddy system!

2026 Tour de Walter – Week 4: Farms of Dover Mile

What is it? The final segment of the 2026 Tour de Walter is the Farms of Dover Mile. This one will make you feel like you’re in the middle of a Tracksmith ad. It’s an out and back mile in the countryside of southwest Raleigh. You’ll see horses and if you’re smart, you’ll pick up some produce from the donation-only Inter-Faith Food Shuttle Farm while you’re there. Also, this one isn’t hilly!

Stop by the donation-only Inter-Faith Food Shuttle Farm Produce Stand while you’re there.

Where is it? The start is right off of Trinity Road on Dover Farm Road. Point your GPS to 2300 Dover Farm Rd, Raleigh, NC 27606 and there is plenty of street parking by the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle Farm.

Where is the start (and where do I run)? Start (and finish) in line with the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle Farm sign (and the break in the gravel) and head south, as this is an out and back mile.

Turn around at the mailbox with the 2912 on it and head back (it’s the only one down here)

Where do I finish? In line with the starting sign!

Finish when you pass this sign (it’s in line with the edge of the gravel

When should I run? You do pass a bunch of driveways, so probably not when people are leaving for work. Don’t run in the middle of the day either. It’s hot! Be careful. Take some Tailwind or Blanks Nutrition in advance! You have between now and Sunday at dusk.

Where will I see the standings? See below and filter accordingly. And we’ll update the cumulative weekly!

After you run the segment, enter your results here into the Google form!

Update your Privacy Settings! If you want your run to register on the segment standings below, you must go into your run in Strava after it populates and adjust the privacy settings on that run (to not hide the start and finish). Make sure and join the Sir Walter Running club on Strava, as we will filter for that and the current week.

What do I win? We will have a random drawing for 2 people to get a free entry to the Raleigh Holiday Half Marathon. We will post with final results next week!

Week 3 winners of the Raleigh RunDown Downhill Mile entry (non-transferrable) are Jeremy Fehlman and Lucy Shearer. Email us and let us know what you want!
