So you like Strava Challenges? We have another for you! If you haven’t already, join the Sir Walter Running Strava club! You can even go to SirWalterStrava.com and it will forward you to the right place. New here? Here’s a primer to Sir Walter Running Strava Challenges. And here’s more information on the Tour de Walter.

What is it? A true crit/time trial course that runs through, and on the edges, of Dorothea Dix Park. This 2.55 mile course is rolling, but not as hilly as the last two weeks. If you missed Destination SunFest, this will be a great time to check out the Sunflowers! Take some photos after your run and tag us on Social Media!

Where do I park? You can park by the Soccer Fields in the Sunflower Parking area located around 75 Hunt Dr, Raleigh, NC 27603.

Where do I start? At the Sunflower Parking sign/on the road at the Soccer Field turn in on Hunt Drive.

Start (and finish) at the break for the parking lot behind the Sunflower Parking sign.

First Right Turn is on Umstead Drive.
Next Left will be onto Blair Drive. The Big Field will be to your Left.
Next Left will on be onto Barbour Drive (aka Biggs Drive). You’ll see the SWM sticker on the back of the Stop Sign from the Dix 2000 Strava Challenge.
Next you will cross the train tracks. Be careful!
Next will be a right onto Palmer Drive.
Next will be a slight left onto Cranmer. This road is not marked. You will be able to see Black Drive (Umstead) from here.
Next is a Right onto Black Drive (aka Umstead) towards the Lake Wheeler Road entrance.
Next you will take a quick Left onto Lake Wheeler Road before hopping on the greenway at the bottom of the hill.
Take an almost immediate Left onto the Rocky Branch Trail Greenway and take it all the way back to Hunt Drive. You will cross a road at one point. Watch for traffic!
Final Left back onto Hunt Drive to the finish.

Where do I finish? Back where you started!

Start (and Finish) at the break in the road for the parking lot.

What do I do after I finish? Check out the sunflowers!

When can I run? Anytime between now and midnight on Sunday, July 21st.
