Spring Greenway 5k Series #2 – Kiwanis Park 5k

Sick of running alone? Need something to do Wednesday night? Come join us for the second of 3 in the 2022 Spring Greenway 5k series that will be held the last Wednesdays of the month for April and May, and will lead up to our annual June Pop Up Miles series. These events are FREE and open to all.

When? Wednesday, April 27 at 6pm (or run on your own). RSVP on Facebook!

Where? The race starts behind the Soccer field, on the greenway by Kiwanis Park, located at 2525 Noble Rd, Raleigh, NC 27608.

What is it? The Kiwanis Park 5k is the second event in the Greenway 5k series!

While this is far from official, the course has been measured to USATF record eligible standards and we will have a clock at the start and the finish.

Where do I park? Your best bet would be to park near Kiwanis Park, located at 2525 Noble Rd, Raleigh, NC 27608. You can park on the street, or in the parking lot.

Where do I start? At this post behind the Soccer Fields at Kiwanis Park. This will be chalked off on Wednesday night. You’ll finish here as well.

Start (and finish) by this post, before you cross the bridge and head towards Capital Blvd

Where do I turn once I’ve started? The only real turn is the turnaround. You’ll pass the old bridge on your right and head up “Dave’s Dogleg.” Once you go up the hill towards Capital Boulevard, you’ll run around the yellow bollard and head back to the same place you started. Mile markers will be chalked off.

You’ll go up the hill and run around the yellow bollard and head back towards the start/finish

Where do I finish? Back where you started!

What do I do after? Feel free to head over to House of Hops at McNeill Pointe (located at 2310 Bale St, Raleigh, NC 27608) to celebrate your run with friends! It’s about 1/4 mile from the start/finish.

Want to see some photos? Of course you do! Check out the Facebook album here, courtesy of Jason Honeycutt for J.Cutt Photography.

Where will I see the standings? Below, and here (Make sure you filter accordingly). Also, if you haven’t already, visit the Sir Walter Running Strava Club page (make sure and join, so that your marks count).
