Air Craigasus Virtual 3 Miler

Wanting to race again? Us too. This Saturday, May 23rd, you will have that chance! As part of “Runologie 101 with Coach Craig (Engels),” we’ll be hosting the “Air Craigasus Virtual 3 Miler” on the Raleigh Half Marathon course. RSVP here!

Soon, we’ll be announcing plans for the June 2020 Pop Up Miles series, as well. It’s going to look a little different this year, but it’s going to be fun. If you haven’t yet, make sure and sign up for our email list for all the details.

“Air Craigasus” Virtual 3 Miler

We’re excited to have “friend of the program” and 2-time Summer of Miles guest, Craig Engels, as the featured Nike athlete for the event. Craig is the 2019 USATF Outdoor 1500m Champion and holds a personal best in the mile of 3:51.60. He broke 4:00 for the first time at the 2017 Sir Walter Miler. He’s also known for his hair game (and charitable nature).

Have a question for him? Want to win some Nike swag? Here’s your chance.

By posting your completion of the “Air Craigasus” Virtual 3 Miler course, whether walking or running, on Facebook or Instagram (story or feed) while tagging @Runologie, @SirWalterRunning and using the hashtag #Runologie101withCraig, you will qualify for a raffle ticket for prizes from Runologie, including the all new Nike Pegasus 37.

Here’s the fun part: Saturday PM – Lecture: Runologie 101 with Craig Engels

  • To close out the Runologie 101 with Craig program, Coach Craig will be joining us via Runologie’s Instagram Live for a Q&A 6pm Saturday night, May 23rd.
  • Here’s your chance to pick the brain of one of America’s best milers. Submit questions on the event page that we should ask Craig!
  • All questions need to be posted BEFORE 4pm Saturday.

The details on the  run…

Where do I park? Lockwood Park, 1000 Crabtree Blvd, Raleigh, NC 27610 (on the street)

Where do I start? Up the hill at the “Tree of Truth,” which is the highest peak on the greenway. This will be marked with spray chalk.

Start at the “Tree of Truth,” the highest point of Mt. Greenway, and head back towards Lockwood Park.

Where do I run after the start? You will take off down the hill and pass Lockwood Park on your left. You will continue almost all the way to Raleigh Boulevard. Just after 1.5 miles, you will veer off to the right, also known as the Raleigh Half Marathon finish, and loop around the circle and head back towards Lockwood Park. You will finish at the 2nd cedar tree right before crossing over the creek after passing Lockwood Park and heading left towards the hill. This will be marked with spray chalk.

Veer to the right here, then loop around the circle and head back towards Lockwood Park
This is the tree where you will finish, just past Lockwood Park, but before the creek (and the hill)
